Overview
The SAM Wand tool is an advanced AI-based segmentation tool designed to assist in object detection and classification within geospatial imagery. It automates the selection of areas based on learned embeddings, making it highly effective for land cover classification, vegetation mapping, and other remote sensing applications.

- AI-Powered Segmentation: Automatically detects and highlights image regions based on learned patterns using the Segment Anything Model (SAM).
- Click-Based Object Selection: Simply click on the imagery to generate segmentation masks and isolate individual features of interest.

Workflow
Accessing the SAM Wand Tool
- Navigate to the Toolbar at the top of the interface.
- Click on the SAM Wand Tool icon.
- Select Polygon Cut + Merge by Class option.
Running the Segmentation Process
- The SAM wand can be used in training areas outlined in yellow.
- Select a training area to begin segmentation.
- The tool will divide the selected region into smaller sections for processing.
- A 'Preprocessing' status will be displayed as the tool generates embeddings.
Assigning a Class to Detected Objects
- Open the Class Selection Menu to assign objects to categories (e.g. Tree, Grass, Water, Ground).
- Once segmentation is complete, detected objects will appear as polygons.
Creating Polygons using the SAM Wand tool
- You can assign multiple assessment points on any one object to increase the accuracy of the polygon.
- Once you've assigned your assessment points, Press 'Enter' to create the final polygon.
- Click on the 'Select' icon in the toolbar to get out of the SAM tool wizard.
Viewing Workflow History
- Navigate to the Workflow Panel to track processing status.
- Completed tasks, such as SAM Embedding Generation, will be listed with timestamps.
- Activity details (e.g. processing time, steps completed) can be viewed for each task.
